Filter water

Aim: To make a filtration plant using household materials.

What is filtration?


Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass. 

Examples are:

  1.  Oil Filter
  2.  Air Filter
  3.  Pool Filter

Materials

1.Funnel
2.Container 
3.Filter paper
4. Dirty Water
5.Cup
6.Scissors 
7.Sand
8.Rocks

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )


Step 1

Cut the bottle in half.

Step 2

Put the top half upside down and put it in the other half of the bottle.

STEP 3

Add layers of sand in the filter paper and then put the rocks on top/

STEP 4

Get 1 cup of dirty water and SLOWLY tip it in.

STEP 5

Pour the dirty water into .

Findings

Write a short sentence about the water every 1 minute. 
Include 'How much water has filtered through', 'How fast it is dripping through', and 'How clear the water is'.

Conclusion:
The first time we did the experiment when we poured the water in it went to fast, and someone I would rather not say who did it 😅😅😅 accidentally knocked the bottle with the clean water and stuff over so it kind of failed.
